Manual Handling of Loads in Europe 2007 in transport and care


This inspection and communications campaign was initiated by the SLIC ties in line with the EU strategy. The project was developed in 2005-2006 and implemented in 2007.

The project and accompanying products will help to achieve a more uniform implementation of the 1990 EU Directive (90/269/EEC), which sets down the safety and health provisions governing the manual handling of loads.

The project will provide support in these problems and will also provide a targeted impulse for improving working conditions in situations where the manual handling of loads is potentially harmful for the safety and health of employees.

The effect of the project will be strengthened by the fact that the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work in Bilbao in 2007 and European Safety Week will also be addressing this theme.
