AWARD named after Halina Krahelska

The aim of presenting this award is to distinguish and promote achievements in work safety and health in the working environment. The award is granted to people who have had special achievement in one of the following areas: supervision and inspection of labour law observance, prevention of occupational hazards, inventiveness, designing safe techniques and technologies, and promotion of health protection, safety and labour law. The National Labour Inspectorate arranges the whole event. Suggestions on eligible candidates, together with a justification, were to be submitted to the Chief Labour Inspectorate by 31 May.


 

Competition “Employer – organiser of safe work”

This competition is addressed to employers. Its objective is to promote best practice for improving work conditions and safety, as well as inspiring employers to undertake actions in order to eliminate the hazards present in their companies. The deadline for submitting application forms with the accompanying documents (to the Chief Labour Inspectorate) expires on 31 August. Awards and honours are to be conferred by 30 November, 2005, at the latest.

Contest for journalists

This contest for journalists is organised by the Chief Labour Inspectorate. Its objective is to promote the issues of labour law and work safety and to give mass-media some inspiration to take up such issues. The deadline for proposing candidates for the Chief Labour Inspector’s award is 12 November 2005. The announcement of the contest’s results and handing in the award is scheduled for December 2005.


 

Contest for juvenile workers in craft

“The contest of knowledge on work safety and health for apprentices of craft establishments” is organised by the Polish Craft Association in cooperation with the National Labour Inspectorate. Its aim is to broaden the knowledge of legal protection of labour and OSH rules. The regional stage of the contest was held in the offices of Craft Chambers and lasted until 31 March 2005. The all-Poland stage took place in the offices of the Polish Craft Association in Warsaw, with the final on 15 May 2005.

Competition to win the title of “The most active civic labour inspector”

This competition is organised by the National Labour Inspectorate via its District Labour Inspectorates. Its aim is to promote the most active civic labour inspectors who deal with labour protection and law-observance in labour relations. The expected effect of this competition is the overall improvement of work safety in enterprises. The deadline for submitting suggestions to the district labour inspectors expired on 15 June 2005, and the competition’s final is to be held in September 2005.


 

Competition “SAFE CONSTRUCTION SITE”

This competition, organised by the National Labour Inspectorate – District Labour Inspectorates, has as its aim to propagate safe and hygienic working conditions on construction sites, including promoting such building contractors which secure safe workstations during the project’s accomplishment and contribute to the overall improvement of work safety in construction on the national scale. The deadline for submitting applications expired on 15 June 2005.


 

All-Poland Competition “Safe farm ‘2005”

This competition, held under an honorary sponsorship of the President of Poland, is meant for two categories:

   I.  private farms;
  II. farms – large producers.

The competition is organised jointly by: the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the National Labour Inspectorate, the Farmers’ Social Insurance Fund, the Agricultural Property Agency, as well as other institutions and organisations involved in raising work safety level on farms. The competition’s final and summing up of the results take place in Poznań on 7 October 2005.
