Through cooperation with inter- national partners National Labour Inspectorate fulfils its commitments which result from Poland's membership in the European Union. NLI maintains bilateral relations with its European counterparts and is active in international organizations by sharing experience and information which fall within the scope of the authority's competence.

Labour inspection as a liaison institution for the implementation of Directive concerning the posting of workers in the framework of the provision of services (Directive 96/71/EC) cooperates with other Member State authorities responsible for supervision of working and other employment conditions.
Said cooperation consists in providing information on employment conditions of workers posted to work
for a fixed period of time in the territory of a Member State by an employer having a seat in another Member State. Polish labour inspection handles correspondence in English, French and German.

Labour inspection representatives participate – at the request of various national institutions (so-called leading institutions) – in the work of committees or working groups of the Commission and Council of the European Union, e. g.: groups dealing with market surveillance with regard to personal protective equipment, lifting equipment, pressure vessels, other equipment and devices, as well as working group for the posting of workers.
