“Open days” in regions attracted thousands of those interested
June “open days” arranged by district labour inspectorates
started the campaign addressed to young people. The programme of
“open days” included press conferences, meetings of labour
inspectors with young people – both in district labour
inspectorates’ offices and in schools. The meetings were
accompanied by lectures, talks and consultations on labour law.
Moreover, there were knowledge competitions on work safety
rules; conferences and seminars attended by pupils from senior
classes, students, young workers, teachers and employers,
educational picnics and job fairs for young people. In Katowice
students from construction schools had a chance to show off
their knowledge on how to work safely. This allowed them to win
high quality electrical tools. During educational picnic in
Dobieszków (Lodz province), young people played football, and
after the match participants of Voluntary Work Corps competed
for awards in the knowledge competition on labour law and OSH
rules.
In Rzeszów, those who had come to obtain NLI’s publications or
legal advice, were also served delicious, hot pea soup with
bacon. Young people crowded into a large parking lot in front of
the district inspectorate’s office, turning it into forum for
discussion and fun for that time.
In Wrocław attendees practised wordplays. Participants of the
quiz “One out of ten” had to prove their OSH knowledge. Scouts’
Rescue Team “Starówka” showed how to deal with first aid and
secure the place of a road accident.
