On 16–17 June 2026, Visegrád, Hungary hosted a meeting of representatives of the labour inspectorates of the Visegrád Group (V4) countries – Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. The main topic of the meeting was accidents at work, with particular emphasis on the methodology for investigating the causes and circumstances of accidents, as well as employers’ obligations in the event of an accident.
The State Labour Inspection was represented by: Aneta Gronowicz, Deputy Chief Labour Inspector, Michał Wyszkowski, Deputy District Labour Inspector in Poznań, Marta Boguszewska, principal labour inspector from the District Labour Inspectorate in Łódź, and Nina Stylińska, chief specialist from the International Relations Unit (interpreter).
The participants presented up-to-date accident rates in their respective countries, discussed the most common causes of accidents, and methods for reporting and recording them. Particular attention was paid to fatal and serious accidents in sectors with increased occupational risks.
The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange best practices and strengthen cooperation between institutions responsible for monitoring working conditions in the Visegrad Group countries. Participants emphasised the need for further cooperation in promoting a culture of occupational safety and effectively addressing hazards in the workplace.
