On 19 May 2026, representatives of the Indonesian Embassy visited the Chief Labour Inspectorate. The State Labour Inspection was represented at the meeting by Ms Urszula Langer, Deputy Chief Labour Inspector; Ms Dorota Gorajska and Mr Robert Jaworski, Deputy Directors of the Legality of Employment Department at the Chief Labour Inspectorate, also attended the meeting. Representing the Indonesian Embassy were Mr Agus Heryana, Minister-Counsellor and Chargé d’Affaires; Ms Laurina Putri Lestari, Second Secretary for Political Affairs; and Mr Dawid Martin, an interpreter and member of staff at the Indonesian Embassy.

During the meeting, general information was provided on the activities of the State Labour Inspection, including its structure, modus operandi and remit, with particular reference to inspections into the legal status of foreign nationals within the territory of the Republic of Poland.

Mr Agus Heryana presented information on Indonesian nationals residing in Poland, estimating their total number at around 6,700, whilst according to the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) data, the figure is as high as 7,000. He pointed out that Poland is becoming an increasingly attractive destination for Indonesian nationals, including in comparison with other Schengen Area countries. He also noted that Polish entities are interested in workers from Indonesia – the Embassy has received around 1,750 enquiries on this matter. He highlighted the need to provide information on Polish regulations concerning foreign nationals. He also expressed an interest in cooperating with the State Labour Inspection, particularly with regard to reporting violations affecting Indonesian citizens that are brought to the Embassy’s attention.

Ms Urszula Langer outlined the opportunities for cooperation with the Indonesian Embassy regarding the reporting of irregularities, including the submission of complaints by Indonesian citizens, and informed about ways of obtaining information about entities operating on the Polish labour market. The Deputy Chief Labour Inspector also highlighted negative practices affecting foreign nationals and our experience in combating them, including through the preventive programmes implemented by the State Labour Inspection.

Ms Dorota Gorajska presented the results of inspections into the legality of employment involving Indonesian citizens and the most significant irregularities revealed during these inspections.

Finally, reference was made to specific case studies provided by the Indonesian party, including those relating to social insurance.
