On 21 August 2008, the Speaker of Polish Parliament Bronisław Komorowski appointed Tadeusz Jan Zając to the position of Chief Labour Inspector. On the next day, at the seat of Chief Labour Inspectorate, the new head of NLI was welcomed by the previous Chief Labour Inspector Bożena Borys-Szopa and management of the institution. They wished Tadeusz Zając every success in fulfilling inspector’s duties.

Problems related to seasonal work of children and the youth in the holiday season and the observance of labour law in workplaces of tourist profile, small outlets and gastronomy – were the subjects of a meeting on 31 July 2008 in the Chief Labour Inspectorate.

– I address my words to construction employers and entrepreneurs and all persons performing work in construction and ask them to rigorously observe rules and regulations of work safety! – appealed Bożena Borys-Szopa, Chief Labour Inspector.

Observance of provisions on working time in health care units was one of the subjects during the session of Labour Protection Council, which convened at its plenary meeting chaired by MP Izabela Katarzyna Mrzygłocka, held at Parliament on 8 July 2008.
