Tallinn, 6 November 2018 - centenary of the Estonian Labour Inspectorate

On 6 November 2018 in Tallinn, the Labour Inspectorate of the Republic of Estonia hosted an international conference “Good working environment in the evolving labour” to celebrate the centenary of its activity. The National Labour Inspectorate was represented by Wiesław Łyszczek, Chief Labour Inspector, who accompanied by Iwona Hadacz, Vice-director of the Personnel and Training Department and Nina Dulna, interpreter from the International Relations Unit. The participants were greeted by Maret Maripuu, Director General of the Labour Inspectorate; wishes of a fruitful meeting were also extended by Jüri Ratas, Prime Minister of the Republic of Estonia.

The conference focused on the challenges resulting from changes in the labour market and their influence on safety and health of workers. The speakers discussed issues such as online platform economy, robotisation of our lives and organisation of a modern working place. The presentations also concerned coping with stress in the changing working environment, benefits and risks of telework and expectation of young employees towards their employers. Then, a panel discussion was held on challenges for social partners resulting from the evolving working environment.

The conference was also the occasion to present the award “Good Working Environment of 2018”.
