Delegation of the Philippine Embassy

On 26 February 2026, Alan L. Deniega, Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines in Poland, Conrado B. Demdem Jr, Minister and Consul General, Geronimo Suliguin Jr, First Secretary and Consul, visited the Chief Labour Inspectorate in Warsaw to meet the State Labour Inspection representatives: Urszula Langer, Deputy Chief Labour Inspector, Beata Habryka, Director of the Legality of Employment Department and Robert Jaworski, Vice-Director of that department.

The guests were informed about the labour inspection’s legal position, organisation, competence, tasks, institutional partners, work priorities, as well as results of inspections focused on the legality of entrusting work to Philippine nationals in Poland in 2023-2025.

Afterwards, Ambassador Alan L. Deniega mentioned that according to estimates of the Embassy, the actual number of Filipinos working in our country is 20 thousand. They arrive in Poland also from other countries, like Singapore and Thailand. Some of them reported problems related to the procedure of issuing residence and work permits, and to being assigned work under civil-law contracts in spite of other arrangements made with them before leaving for Poland. The Embassy, without interfering in their situation as workers, offers legal support and advice to them, also through its Law Unit in Szczecin.

The labour inspection’s representatives confirmed that the SLI provides advice also in English to those migrant workers who do not speak Polish. To help Philippine citizens working or seeking jobs in Poland, the Embassy would be willing to place information on its website about the most important terms of employment, procedure of filing complaints and requests, as well as other essential details.

Cooperation of the State Labour Inspection with the Philippine Embassy will be continued.
