In Cordova on prevention in agriculture

From 15 to 17 May 2019 at the University of Cordova in Spain the 39th International Colloquium was held – “Vision Zero – World Prevention Strategy in Agriculture”. Wiesław Łyszczek, the Chief Labour Inspector, took part in the meeting.


Other participants of the Colloquium, organised by the International Section of the ISSA on Prevention in Agriculture in cooperation with Agricultural Social Insurance Fund (KRUS) and the University of Cordova, were: Katarzyna Bzdura, Acting Head of the Prevention and Promotion Unit in the District Labour Inspectorate in Katowice, and Nina Dulna, an interpreter from the International Relations Unit of the Chief Labour Inspectorate.

The Colloquium was opened by its organisers, Aleksandra Hadzik, the President of KRUS, the Chair of the International Section of the ISSA on Prevention in Agriculture, and Jose Carlos Gomez Villamandos, Rector of the University of Cordova.

The goal of the event was to promote the strategy of Vision Zero of the International Social Security Association (ISSA) which marks as its priority the reduction in the number of accidents and occupational diseases to zero. During the event discussions were held on the newest achievements and good practices concerning the various aspects of prevention in agriculture.

The Colloquium was an excellent opportunity for the experts from all over the world to exchange experiences and introduce new ideas concerning the actions which contribute to the decrease in the number of accidents and occupational illnesses. Among the participants of the event were: OSH experts, researchers, agricultural medicine experts, public health experts as well as farmers and agricultural sector workers.
