Meeting with the head of the Dutch labour inspectorate

On 24 September 2019, Wiesław Łyszczek, Chief Labour Inspector and Marc Kuipers, Inspector General of the Inspectorate SZW in the Netherlands met at the NLI Training Centre in Wrocław to discuss the coordination of activities aimed at the Poles working in the Netherlands.

The meeting, organized the day before the International Conference “Opportunities and challenges for the world of labour 4.0”, was attended by Jarosław Leśniewski, Director of the Legality of Employment Department at the Chief Labour Inspectorate and Iwona Hadacz, Deputy Director of the Personnel and Training Department at the Chief Labour Inspectorate.

Both parties spoke very highly of the bilateral cooperation between the countries. It focuses mainly on issues concerning Polish workers employed in Dutch companies via Polish employment agencies providing employment services abroad.

Last year, the Polish and Dutch labour inspection services cooperated on 4 cases initiated by the National Labour Inspectorate, which also received 10 information requests from the Dutch labour inspectorate relating to the posting of workers in the framework of the provision of services.

Wiesław Łyszczek emphasized successful cooperation so far and presented the activities of the National Labour Inspectorate aimed at ensuring decent working conditions to Polish workers engaged in the Netherlands.

Marc Kuipers raised the issue of new fraudulent practices against Polish workers in the Netherlands. This concerns, among others, underpaid drivers.

The meeting was also attended by: Lesław Grajewski, Director of the NLI Training Centre in Wrocław, and from the Chief Labour Inspectorate: Jacek Pawilonis from the Prevention and Promotion Department, Tomasz Zalewski from the Information Office and Teresa Jastrzębska from the International Relations Unit.
